Mustee 3442BN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size alcove does the Mustee 3442BN Durabase shower floor fit?
The Mustee 3442BN Durabase shower floor measures 34 x 42 inches, so it is sized for an alcove framed to that footprint. Measure the rough opening between studs both ways before ordering, because a shower base of fixed molded size will not stretch to a larger opening or shim down into a smaller one. If your alcove is square rather than rectangular, the 34 x 42 will not drop in.
2) What color is the Mustee 3442BN shower base, and will it match other bone fixtures?
Bone. The 3442BN is the bone version of Mustee's 34 x 42 Durabase shower floor, which is what you want when the toilet and lavatory in the bathroom are bone rather than white. For a property manager standardizing across units, order by the BN suffix in the model number, since that suffix is what carries the color.
3) Is the Mustee 3442BN just the shower pan, or does it include walls?
It is the shower floor alone, a one-piece receptor that sits on the framed base of the alcove. Wall surrounds, the drain assembly, and the valve and trim are separate items you order to suit the job. Plan the build sequence around that: the pan goes in first, then the walls lap over its upstand.
4) What is the manufacturer part number for the Mustee 34 x 42 bone Durabase shower floor?
Order it as Mustee 3442BN. The number reads directly: 3442 for the 34 x 42 inch footprint, BN for bone. That is the part number to quote to a distributor or put on a submittal so the right color and size arrive together.
