Custom Length Housings Series’ 3500, 3600, 3700 and 3800 may be used with any full size 2000 or 3000 Series electromagnetic lock except the 3006 and 3101B Series. Custom Length Housings 3550, 3650, 3750 and 3850 are designed for use with 2511 and 2522 Mini electromagnetic locks only. Custom Length Housings provide an unbroken sight line across the header or along a vertical jamb, for a less conspicuous installation. Installation is easy, standard locks are mounted in the conventional manner, a pre-cut track is installed in line with the lock and a “U” shaped channel is attached to the track, concealing both track and lock. Both track and housing ends may be field trimmed as required on all models except the 3700 and 3750.

1) What opening is the DynaLock 3500 CLH sized for?
It covers a single horizontal full size lock on a single door, left hand reverse, with housing lengths running 30 to 48 inches. If your header run is a pair of doors or a vertical jamb application, that is a different model in the Custom Length Housing family.
2) Can I cut the DynaLock 3500 housing down on site to match my header?
Yes. On the 3500, both the track and the housing ends can be field trimmed as needed. The only models in the family that cannot be trimmed are the 3700 and 3750.
3) Why use a custom length housing instead of just surface mounting the maglock?
Appearance. A conventionally mounted maglock leaves a visible block on the header. The custom length housing runs a U shaped channel across the full length of the header or jamb so you get an unbroken sight line and both the lock and its track are concealed. The lock still mounts the conventional way underneath.
4) What is the equivalent full length maglock housing from another brand?
If you are running Securitron Magnalocks rather than DynaLock, the Securitron M32/62/82 Magnalock Full Length Housing is the counterpart product. For shear locks, ROFU offers surface mount housings tied to specific models: the 21059 for the 8031-002, and the 21036 pair for the 8035/-002. These are not interchangeable with the DynaLock 3500, which is built around DynaLock's own full size 2000 and 3000 Series locks.
5) What finish does the DynaLock 3500 custom length housing come in?
628 satin aluminum (US28), which is the standard clear anodized look that matches typical aluminum storefront and hollow metal header trim. That is the only finish offered on the 3500 CLH.
6) Does the 3500 housing change the voltage or wiring of the maglock?
No. The housing is a cover and track assembly, not a powered device. The locks it conceals are 12/24 VDC commercial electromagnetic locks, and they are wired exactly as they would be without the housing.
