DynaLock Custom Length Housings For Electromagnetic Locks
Model 3700 - CLV to 96” Two Vertical Locks - Single Door. Full Size.
(Pricing is for Housing only. Lock(s) must be ordered separately)
Custom Length Housings Series’ 3500, 3600, 3700 and 3800 may be used with any full size 2000 or 3000 Series electromagnetic lock except the 3006 and 3101B Series. Custom Length Housings 3550, 3650, 3750 and 3850 are designed for use with 2511 and 2522 Mini electromagnetic locks only. Custom Length Housings provide an unbroken sight line across the header or along a vertical jamb, for a less conspicuous installation. Installation is easy, standard locks are mounted in the conventional manner, a pre-cut track is installed in line with the lock and a “U” shaped channel is attached to the track, concealing both track and lock. Both track and housing ends may be field trimmed as required on all models except the 3700 and 3750.

DynaLock DYK3700 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I cut the DynaLock 3700 housing down on site to match my door opening?
No. Field trimming of the track and housing ends is allowed on all the Custom Length Housing models except the 3700 and 3750. You order the 3700 cut to length (up to 96 inches), so get the measurement right before the order goes in. If you want the ability to trim on the job, look at the 3500, 3600 or 3800 instead.
2) Why use a custom length housing instead of just surface mounting the mag locks?
Appearance, mostly. A bare surface mounted mag lock and its track break up the line of the jamb. The Custom Length Housing gives an unbroken sight line along a vertical jamb or across the header, with a pre-cut track installed in line with the lock and a U shaped channel snapped over it so both the track and the lock disappear. The locks themselves still mount the conventional way, so installation doesn't change much.
3) Is the DynaLock 3700 housing suitable for a pair of doors?
It's configured for a single door with two vertical locks. A pair of doors is a different configuration, so check the other Custom Length Housing models (3500, 3600, 3800) for the arrangement that matches your opening rather than ordering two 3700s.
4) My installer wants to trim the housing to fit on site. Which DynaLock custom length housing allows that, and does the 3700?
The 3700 does not. On the DynaLock Custom Length Housings, both track and housing ends may be field trimmed on all models except the 3700 and 3750, so a 3700 has to be specified at the length you need. If field trimming is the priority, the 3500, 3600 and 3800 cover full size 2000 and 3000 Series locks, while the 3550, 3650 and 3850 are for the 2511 and 2522 Mini electromagnetic locks only. For comparison, the Securitron FLH is a full length housing sold for the M32, M62 and M82 Magnalocks.
5) Is the Aiphone KA-DGR housing an alternative to a DynaLock 3700?
No. The Aiphone KA-DGR is a stainless steel housing for the KB-DAR video door station in the Aiphone KB Series, so it encloses an intercom and camera unit at the entry. The DynaLock 3700 is an electromagnetic lock housing that conceals the lock and its mounting track along the header or jamb of a commercial opening. Both are access control accessories, but they enclose completely different devices and neither can stand in for the other.
6) What finish does the DynaLock 3700 housing come in?
628 Satin Aluminum (US28) is the finish, and it's the only one offered. That's a clear anodized look that sits well against aluminum storefront and hollow metal frames, which is the typical application for a concealed vertical mag lock run.
7) Is the 3700 housing rated for commercial use?
Yes, it's a commercial door hardware item, catalogued as an installation accessory for electromagnetic access control. It carries no battery of its own and is part of a hardwired 12/24 VDC system.
