Custom Length Housings Series’ 3500, 3600, 3700 and 3800 may be used with any full size 2000 or 3000 Series electromagnetic lock except the 3006 and 3101B Series. Custom Length Housings 3550, 3650, 3750 and 3850 are designed for use with 2511 and 2522 Mini electromagnetic locks only. Custom Length Housings provide an unbroken sight line across the header or along a vertical jamb, for a less conspicuous installation. Installation is easy, standard locks are mounted in the conventional manner, a pre-cut track is installed in line with the lock and a “U” shaped channel is attached to the track, concealing both track and lock. Both track and housing ends may be field trimmed as required on all models except the 3700 and 3750.

DynaLock 3600 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the DynaLock 3600 Custom Length Housing include the electromagnetic lock?
No. The 3600 is the housing only, and the maglock has to be ordered separately. You get the pre-cut track and the U shaped channel that covers the track and lock; the lock itself mounts conventionally first, then the track goes in line with it and the channel snaps over both.
2) What door width and handing does the DynaLock 3600 housing cover?
It is built for a single door with a single horizontal lock, right hand reverse, over a 30 inch to 48 inch span. Handing matters on this one, so a left hand reverse opening needs the corresponding LHR housing rather than the 3600 as configured here.
3) Can the DynaLock 3600 housing be cut down on site to match my exact opening?
Yes. Both the track and the housing ends on the 3600 can be field trimmed as needed. That flexibility is not universal in the family, the 3700 and 3750 cannot be trimmed, so if field fitting matters the 3600 is the one to specify.
4) Why use a custom length housing instead of just surface mounting the maglock?
Appearance, mainly. A bare maglock and its track leave a broken line across the header. The custom length housing runs the full span so you get an unbroken sight line across the header or down a vertical jamb, and the lock reads as trim rather than hardware. Function of the lock does not change, this is a cosmetic and concealment part.
5) Does the housing need its own power or wiring?
No separate supply for the housing. It is a non-powered cover over the lock and track. The maglock inside it runs on 12/24 VDC, and it is not battery operated, so the access control power supply feeding the lock is all that is involved.
6) What is the alternative to a DynaLock custom length housing if I run a different brand of maglock?
Housings are brand and model specific, so the 3600 is not a cross-brand part. On Securitron Magnalocks the equivalent is the Securitron M32/62/82 Magnalock Full Length Housing. For ROFU shear locks, the 21059 surface mount housing suits the 8031-002 and the 21036 pair suits the 8035/-002 mini shear lock. Match the housing to the lock you already have on the door.
7) I have a pair of doors, can I use one 3600 housing across both leaves?
The 3600 is configured for a single door with one horizontal lock. A pair of doors with two locks needs the double-door configuration from the custom length housing family rather than this one, since the track is pre-cut to suit a single lock position in a 30 to 48 inch span.
8) Is the DynaLock 3600 housing the right choice for a mini electromagnetic lock?
No. The 3600 and its companions 3500, 3700 and 3800 are for full size 2000 or 3000 Series electromagnetic locks; DynaLock's 3550, 3650, 3750 and 3850 custom length housings are the ones designed for the 2511 and 2522 Mini electromagnetic locks. For a mini shear lock instead, the ROFU 21036 surface mount housing is sold as a pair for the 8035/-002.
9) For an unbroken sight line across a header, how does the DynaLock 3600 differ from the Securitron FLH?
The DynaLock 3600 uses a pre-cut track installed in line with a conventionally mounted lock and a U shaped channel attached over it, concealing both track and lock, and both track and housing ends may be field trimmed on the 3600. The Securitron FLH is a full length housing for the M32, M62 and M82 Magnalock. The 3600 is supplied in 628 satin aluminum and covers a right hand reverse 30 inch to 48 inch run.
10) What finish does the DynaLock 3600 housing come in?
One finish: 628 Satin Aluminum (US28). If the rest of the openings in the building are brass or bronze trim, the housing will read as clear anodized aluminum against them, so it suits aluminum storefront and painted hollow metal frames best.
11) Is the DynaLock 3600 housing suitable for commercial openings?
Yes, it is a commercial grade accessory for electromagnetic lock installs, typically specified on access controlled entries in office, institutional and multi-family buildings where the header run has to look finished.
