1) Do I need a filler plate or an angle bracket for my maglock?
Two different problems. A filler plate closes a flat gap, the magnet or armature is on the right plane but sits too deep, so you shim it out by 1/8 up to 3/4 inch. An angle bracket changes the mounting plane, which is what you need on an inswing door where the armature has to hang below the frame or on glass and frameless openings. DynaLock covers both in the 4000 Series accessory line; the 4022 bars are the flat spacer half of it.
2) I need to shim a maglock out from the header - is a filler plate the right part or do I need a bracket?
A filler plate is a flat spacer that sets the magnet or armature out from its mounting surface by a fixed thickness. The DynaLock 4022 plates do that in 22 inch lengths at 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4 inch thicknesses, and the Locknetics MFP and WFP plates in 628 aluminum serve the same shimming role on MG and WMG Series magnets. If the problem is not depth but angle - a glass door, an inswinging door, a header the magnet cannot sit flush against - a flat filler plate will not correct it and you need an angle or Z bracket instead. Stack thickness first, then decide whether geometry still needs a bracket.
3) Is the DynaLock 4022 filler plate rated for commercial door use?
Commercial. It's part of the electronic access control side of the door hardware line, meant for maglock installs in commercial openings rather than residential retrofit work.
4) Does the DynaLock 4022 filler plate need power or wiring?
No wiring. It's a solid spacer bar with no electrical connection, even though it belongs to the electronic access control family. Power runs to the maglock itself; the filler plate just occupies space behind it.
