DynaLock 4010 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) I'm running Locknetics mag locks, not DynaLock. Is there an equivalent filler plate?
Yes, but keep them with their own lock. For Locknetics, the MFP50-MFP63 filler plates in 628 aluminum go with the MG Series, and the WFP50-WFP63 plates go with the WMG Series. The DynaLock 4010 is cut for the DynaLock 2511 and is not a cross-brand substitute.
2) Do I need a filler plate or an angle bracket for my mag lock install?
Different problems. A filler plate shims the lock out from the header to take up a gap and keep the magnet face parallel to the armature, which is what the 4010 does in thicknesses from 1/8 up to 3/4 inch. An angle bracket is for mounting the lock where there is no flat header surface to land on, such as an inswing door needing an L or Z bracket. DynaLock's 4000 Series accessory line covers filler and spacer plates plus angle brackets, so order by what the opening actually lacks.
3) Can I substitute a Locknetics WFP filler plate for a DynaLock 4010 to build out a gap on a 2511 magnet?
Treat them as different parts. The Locknetics WFP50-WFP63 plates are built for the WMG series magnets in 628 aluminum, while the DynaLock 4010 filler plates are dimensioned for the 2511 at 1-1/4 inches by 10-1/2 inches. A plate whose length or bolt pattern does not match the magnet housing will leave the magnet unsupported along part of its face, which is exactly where filler and spacer plates need to bear. Stack DynaLock 4010 thicknesses - 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4 inch - to reach the shim depth you need on a 2511.
