A left reducer is the transition fitting that steps a ladder tray run down from one width to a narrower one while keeping one side rail in a straight line. The B-Line 6A-24-LR12 reduces between 24 inch and 12 inch tray widths, with the offset taken on the left side as you look along the run. If your run needs the offset on the opposite rail, you need the right-hand version instead, and if the run has to stay centered you want a straight (center) reducer rather than a left or right.

Allow 14.97 inches of run length for the transition. That is the fitting's length along the run, measured between the connection points, and it is the number to drop into your tray takeoff so your straight sections come out right. The wide end measures 24 inches across.

It carries CSA certification, so it is acceptable for installations that require CSA-certified tray components. The part number to spec on a Canadian drawing is 6A-24-LR12.

What you are ordering under 6A-24-LR12 is the reducer fitting itself. Splice plates, connection hardware, and any supports at the transition are ordered separately, so add the matching 6 inch aluminum splice plates for both ends when you build the order.

Use the reducer. Butting a narrow tray into the end of a wide one leaves an unsupported edge and a step the cable has to bend over, which is where jacket damage and bend-radius violations happen. A left reducer carries the rail through the transition on one side and slopes the other rail in over 14.97 inches, so the cable follows a gradual path and both rails stay continuous for grounding and support.
