B-LINE 6612 GGV NK – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size is the Eaton B-Line 6612 GGV NK wireway, and is it a full-length section or a short piece?
It's a 6 x 6 inch cross section, 12 inches long. That makes it a short filler or jumper section rather than a standard long run piece, useful for tying two runs together, bridging between a panel and a gutter, or picking up a short offset. Bare metal weight is about 4.814 lb.
2) Does this 6x6 wireway come with knockouts for conduit?
No. The 6612 GGV NK is the NK (no knockouts) version, so the sides, bottom and ends come solid. You drill or punch your own openings wherever the conduit lands. If you want factory knockouts on a set pattern, you need the knockout version of the same series instead.
3) Can I use this B-Line wireway outdoors or in a washdown area?
No. It's a NEMA 1 enclosure, which is general purpose indoor only, meant to keep people out of live parts and catch falling dirt. It offers no protection against rain, hose-down, or dust ingress. For outdoor or wet locations you need a NEMA 3R or 4 rated gutter.
4) How does the cover come off on the 6612 GGV NK wireway?
It's a screw cover, held on with plated screws along the flange. You back the screws out to open the full 12 inch length for pulling and splicing. That's slower to open than a hinged cover, so if the section will be accessed often, a hinged-cover gutter is the better choice; screw cover is the norm where the box gets opened rarely.
5) How do I mount a 6 inch B-Line wireway to a wall or strut?
It mounts through thru holes in the back of the trough, so it bolts flat to a wall, backboard, or strut run with your own fasteners. Mounting hardware and any strut or spacers are supplied by the installer, not with the section.
6) What gauge and material is this wireway, and will it hold up in an unheated indoor space?
16 gauge galvanized steel, finished gray. The galvanized base gives it reasonable resistance to condensation and humidity in an unconditioned indoor room like a mechanical space or parking garage soffit, but it is still a NEMA 1 box and shouldn't be exposed to weather.
7) Do I need connectors or end plates to tie this 12 inch section into a wireway run?
Yes. The section is the trough and screw cover only. Connectors, end caps, elbows, hangers and mounting fasteners are separate items, so size those to the same 6 x 6 inch trough when you build out the run.
