B-LINE 6672 GGV – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Eaton B-Line 6672 GGV wireway rated for outdoor or wet locations?
No. The 6672 GGV is a NEMA 1 wireway, which is indoor, general-purpose only. It is not raintight or wet-location rated, so keep it inside dry mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, and interior runs. For an outdoor or washdown run you need a NEMA 3R or NEMA 4 wireway instead.
2) What size is the 6672 GGV wireway and how long a run does one piece cover?
It is a 6 x 6 inch trough, 72 inches long, so one piece covers a 6 foot run. Sections are joined end to end to build longer runs, and the 6 by 6 cross section is the common size for feeder and branch circuit pulls where a 4 x 4 gets crowded.
3) Does this B-Line wireway come with knockouts, or do I have to punch my own?
Knockouts are already there: 23 across the top and 23 across the bottom, so you can land conduit without drilling or punching the trough on site. The body is also supplied with thru holes for mounting.
4) What is the 6672 GGV made of and will it hold up in a damp basement or parking garage?
The body is galvanized steel in 16 gauge with a gray finish and plated screws. The galvanized coating gives better corrosion resistance than plain painted steel for damp indoor spaces, but it is still a NEMA 1 enclosure, so it does not belong anywhere water can drip or spray on it.
5) Is this wireway approved for use on a Canadian job?
Yes, the 6672 GGV is CSA Certified, so it can be specified on work inspected to Canadian requirements.
6) Do I need separate fittings to connect two sections of this wireway together?
Yes. The 6672 GGV is the trough and cover only. Connectors, end plates, elbows, and hangers for a 6 x 6 galvanized system are ordered separately, so size those to the same 6 by 6 cross section when you build out the run.
