The 6672-12WT is a seamless poured-in-place gasketed NEMA 12 trough with no factory knockouts to break the seal. You punch or drill the openings you need on site and use gasketed or sealing hubs at each penetration, otherwise the NEMA 12 rating on the box is worth nothing. Plan the entries before you hang it, since drilling is easier on a bench.
6) Can I use this as a pull box and splice compartment, or only as a raceway between panels?
Both. A 6 x 6 by 72 inch trough with a full hinged cover gives you open access along the whole length, which is what makes it usable for splices and taps as well as a straight wire run between enclosures. Fill and splice volume still have to be calculated for your conductors, and the gray steel body is an indoor NEMA 12 assembly.
