Yes. The Prism 12155AD10 is a thru-beam sensor, so it works as a source and detector pair aimed at each other across the gap. It also uses a synchronous design, which means the source and detector have to be wired to each other, not just powered independently. Plan the wire run between the two heads, not only back to the panel.

The output is an isolated solid state relay rated 80 mA at 132 Vac or 110 mA at 132 Vdc. That is pilot duty only, so drive a contactor coil, PLC input, or small relay, not a motor or lamp load. For loads under 32V AC or DC the output is current limited, which protects it against a short on the low voltage side.

It carries NEMA 1, 3, 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 ratings, which covers outdoor rain, hosedown, corrosion resistant duty and temporary submersion. The lens is polycarbonate, the body is structural polyurethane foam and the cable jacket is PVC, so it holds up to wet plant environments. Operating range is -13 to 131 F (-25 to 55 C), so it is not a freezer sensor below -13 F.

Thru-beam, which is what the Prism 12155AD10 is, puts the emitter on one side and the detector on the other, so the target only has to break the beam. That gives the longest range and the most reliable detection of dark, shiny or irregular parts, and it does not care about target color. The trade-off is two mounting points and wiring on both sides of the conveyor, plus the synchronous wiring link between source and detector. A retroreflective or diffuse sensor mounts on one side only, so pick that when you cannot get power or a bracket across the line.

There is a red LED on the sensor that shows output status. During alignment, walk the detector until that red indicator settles, then lock the bracket. With a thru-beam pair, most nuisance trips come from mechanical drift knocking the two heads out of alignment, so check the LED after tightening.
