Main lug. The Eaton Type BR loadcenter has no main breaker inside it, so the feeder lands directly on the lugs and overcurrent protection has to come from upstream, typically the breaker in the panel feeding it. That makes it a subpanel or feeder panel, not a service entrance panel. If you need a disconnect at the panel itself, a main lug unit is the wrong choice.

4) What is the difference between flush and surface trim on a loadcenter, and which one do I order?

Flush trim is for a panel recessed into the wall cavity, where the trim covers the drywall opening. Surface trim is for a panel hung on the face of the wall, typical in a garage, mechanical room or block wall where you cannot bury the box. The Eaton BR is offered flush without a door, flush with a door, and surface without a door. Get this wrong and the trim will not close against the wall. Where the panel is in finished occupied space, the flush-with-door build is the one that looks finished.

The small builds run 2 spaces with a 4-circuit maximum and 4 spaces with an 8-circuit maximum. The circuit count is higher than the space count because Type BR tandem breakers put two poles in one 1-inch space. Count your actual poles, not your breakers, before you size it.

Two ampere ratings are offered, 70A and 125A. The rating is the maximum the bus and lugs will carry, so it has to be at or above the upstream breaker protecting the feeder. A 70A panel fed by a 100A breaker is a code problem. For a small subpanel off a lighting or appliance feeder, 70A is usually enough; for a garage, shop or an apartment subpanel carrying several 240V loads, take the 125A.
