1) Does the Emtek 1351 multi point trim include the multi point lock body, or just the handles and plates?
Trim only. The 1351 set gives you the plates, handles, and cylinder, and the multi point mortise lock box is not included. If you're replacing a failed gearbox or building a door from scratch, you still need the multi point lock itself. Buy this when the lock body in the door is sound and you're changing or upgrading the visible hardware.
2) What does Door Configuration #3 mean on an Emtek multi point trim, and how do I know my door is that config?
Configuration is how the trim's holes line up with the multi point lock already in the door. The 1351 is built for Configuration #3 with the cylinder hub ABOVE the handle and 4-1/8 inch center-to-center between the hub and the spindle. Measure from the center of your existing keyway to the center of the handle spindle: if the key is above the lever and that distance is 4-1/8 inches, this is your trim. A different spacing or a cylinder below the handle is a different configuration and the plate will not line up.
3) Will the Emtek 1351 trim fit on an Andersen patio door?
Andersen is the referenced door manufacturer for the 1351 trim, and it's made for swinging patio doors running a multi point lock. The deciding detail is still the hole pattern: cylinder above the lever, 4-1/8 inches hub to spindle. Confirm that on the door and the 1.5 x 11 inch plate covers the existing prep.
4) Do I have to specify handing when ordering the Emtek 1351 patio door trim?
Yes, handing is required, right hand or left hand. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right it's a right hand door. Get it wrong and the lever and the key position land on the wrong side of the plate. Lever style is also a required choice, so pick both before you order.
5) Can I key the Emtek 1351 to match the Schlage keys I already use on the building?
