The 13A3 trim is built for Configuration #3 multi point openings and Andersen is the referenced door manufacturer. The deciding number is the center-to-center: 4-1/8 inches between the handle and the cylinder position above it. Measure the spacing on your existing mortise lock before ordering. If your door does not measure 4-1/8 inch CTC in Config #3, this trim will not line up with the lock's spindle and cylinder holes.
2) Does the Emtek 13A3 come with the multi point lock, or do I need to buy that separately?
Trim only. The 13A3 set includes the interior and exterior plates and the handles; the multi point mortise lock box is not included. If you are building a new opening rather than replacing worn hardware, you need the lock body from the door manufacturer as well. On a retrofit where the existing multi point lock is still good, the trim alone is what you order.
3) Is the Emtek 13A3 keyed, and how does it lock?
Non-keyed. The 13A3 has a thumbturn on the inside and no cylinder, so it throws and retracts the multi point lock from indoors only. That suits an in-swing patio door that is not a primary entry, or one where the keyed egress point is elsewhere. If you need to lock it from outside with a key, you want a keyed Config #3 trim instead, which takes an American style cylinder in the position above the handle.
4) Do I have to specify handing on the Emtek 13A3 patio door trim?
Handing is required at order. The 13A3 is built right hand or left hand, and it is not field reversible on the order form, so determine it standing outside the door looking in and pick the side the hinges are on accordingly. Getting it wrong on a patio door means the lever and thumbturn end up oriented against the swing.

Because the plates are brass rather than a plated zinc, the Unlacquered Brass option will patina with handling and weather, which is what you want if the rest of the openings are living finish, and not what you want if you are matching a fixed satin nickel fleet.
