Trim only. The Emtek 1455 set includes the plates and handles for both sides of the door, and the multi point mortise lock box is not included. On a pair of swinging patio doors, the active leaf gets the working multi point handleset and the inactive leaf gets a dummy like the Emtek 1455 so both leaves look identical. Because the 1455 is not keyed and has no electronics, it pulls and looks the part but does not lock anything.

It covers 1-3/8 inch through 1-3/4 inch doors, which spans both the common lighter patio door and standard 1-3/4 inch stock. It is surface mount with no door prep required, so you are not boring or mortising for the trim itself. Door thickness is a field you fill in when ordering, so give the actual measured thickness of your door.

Configuration #4 describes the plate layout: the cylinder opening sits above the handle, on a rectangular plate measuring 1-1/2 x 11 inches, with 3-5/8 inch center to center between the cylinder and handle centers. Those three numbers are what you match against the existing plate or the door manufacturer's multi point layout. If your door's cylinder falls below the handle or the spacing is not 3-5/8 inch, you need a different configuration.

Yes, handing is required. You choose Right Hand (RH) or Left Hand (LH) so the lever throws the correct direction and matches the active leaf beside it. Levers are handed even where the trim has no latch, so a wrong pick reads backwards on the door.

Emtek classifies the 1455 as residential. It is swinging patio door hardware in cast bronze, intended for homes and light residential use, not for a commercial opening where a graded lockset would be specified. For a multi-family or commercial entry, look at a Grade 1 or Grade 2 mortise lock with matching escutcheon trim instead.

Three: Flat Black Bronze (FB), Medium Bronze (MB) and Tumbled White Bronze (TWB). These are living sandcast bronze finishes, so they will shift tone with handling over time. If you are matching a dummy leaf to an existing active handleset, order both from the same finish code.
