Emtek 1655 Multi Point Lock Trim (Door Config #6) - Sandcast Bronze Plates, Rectangular Style (1.5" x 11"), Dummy Pair

Trim only. The 1655 set gives you the plates and handles; the multi point mortise lock box is a separate order. If you are replacing worn or damaged handles on a patio door whose multi point lock still works, this is exactly the part. If the lock itself has failed, you need the lock box too.

Dummy means the handles are fixed, with no latch action and no key. It is a pull, not a lock. On a swinging patio pair, the dummy set goes on the inactive leaf so the two doors look identical, while the active leaf carries the operating multi point trim. The 1655 dummy is supplied as a pair, so you get plates and handles for both faces of that leaf.

It covers 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch doors, which spans the usual residential range, and it is surface mount so no door prep is required for the trim itself. There is a door thickness field on the order to note your actual measurement.

Configuration #6 describes the plate layout: cylinder position below the handle, sized for an American cylinder, with 3-5/8 inch center-to-center between the handle and the cylinder hole. Measure that center-to-center distance on your existing trim or on the lock body. If it is not 3-5/8 inches with the cylinder under the handle, a different Emtek configuration matches your door. Milgard and Pella are the reference door manufacturers for this trim, in the #6 configuration. Confirm your door matches the layout: American cylinder, cylinder below the handle, 3-5/8 inch center-to-center. Those three things, not the door brand alone, decide whether the plate lands over your existing prep.

Handing is required on the order, right hand or left hand, even though the dummy handles do not operate anything. It sets which way the lever and plate are oriented on the leaf. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right, it is right hand. Order the handing that matches the leaf the dummy set is going on, not the active leaf.

Three finishes: Flat Black Bronze, Medium Bronze, and Tumbled White Bronze. All three are sandcast bronze, a solid substrate rather than a plated finish, so the surface wears rather than flaking. Medium Bronze and Tumbled White Bronze are living finishes that darken and lighten with handling and weather; Flat Black Bronze is the most uniform of the three. If you are matching other Emtek sandcast hardware on the house, order the same finish code across all of it.

The lever is chosen separately and any Emtek sandcast bronze lever fits. Ten styles are offered: Aurora, Bryce, Cimarron, Cody, Durango, Lariat, Mariposa, Montrose, Teton, and Yuma. Pick the same lever and finish you have on the interior doors and the patio pair reads as one set.

The rectangular plate measures 1-1/2 x 11 inches. That is a narrow, tall plate, so it covers a vertical run of old prep but very little side to side. Measure the width of any existing cut or wear mark on the door face against 1-1/2 inches before committing. Since the trim is surface mount, the plate is what does the covering.

It is residential hardware, and there is no keying or electronic access on it at all. For a multi-family or commercial opening that needs a graded, keyed entrance, this dummy trim is the wrong part. It belongs on a house or a residential unit's swinging patio door.
