Emtek 14B5 Multi Point Lock Trim (Door Config #4) - Brass Plates, Modern Style (2" x 10"), Dummy Pair

Trim only. The 14B5 set gives you the plates and handles for both sides of a swinging patio door; the multi point mortise lock box is a separate order. If you're replacing worn handles on a door where the existing multi point mechanism still works, that's exactly what this covers. If the mechanism itself is the problem, you need the lock box too.

It fits doors from 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches, which covers standard 1-3/4 inch swinging patio doors. Mounting is surface mount with no door prep required, so a dummy pair goes on without boring the door. Door thickness is still a field you specify when ordering so the fasteners come right.

Measure the existing plate: center of the handle spindle to center of the cylinder hole. The 14B5 is Emtek's Config #4 layout, 3-5/8 inches center-to-center with the cylinder position above the handle. If your door's existing prep measures something else, or the keyway sits below the lever, this configuration won't line up and you need a different Emtek config number. Config is the first thing to confirm on a multi point retrofit, before finish or lever style.

Emtek lists this configuration against Ashland, G-U, Caradco, JELD-WEN, Jeld-Wen Custom Collection (formerly Pozzi), Marvin, PGT, Premium Collection (formerly Norco), and Weathershield doors. Those are reference manufacturers for the Config #4 layout, so still verify your door's center-to-center measures 3-5/8 inches, since a single door brand runs more than one multi point layout across its product lines.

Seven: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel Lifetime (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL), and Satin Brass (US4). The plates are solid brass. Note that Unlacquered Brass is a living finish, it will darken and patina with handling, so if you're matching a fleet of doors and want them to stay identical, pick one of the plated finishes instead.

Yes, handing is required. Right hand or left hand, chosen for the leaf the trim mounts on. Even though a dummy doesn't operate a latch, the plate and lever geometry are handed, so a left hand set on a right hand door will read backwards. Stand on the outside of the door: if the hinges are on your right, it's right hand.

Lever style is a required selection and the list runs to 51 options, from the modern L-Square, T-Bar, and R-Bar bars in Faceted, Hammered, Knurled, Tribeca, Straight Knurled, and White Marble, through Athena, Helios, Hermes, Luzern, Poseidon, and Stuttgart, to traditional patterns like Ribbon and Reed, Rope, Rustic, Santa Fe, Arts and Crafts, and Hammered. Any brass lever can be ordered on it. That's how you get the patio door to read the same as the interior passage and privacy sets.

The plates measure 2 x 10 inches. On a swinging patio door with a narrow stile, measure the flat face of the stile before ordering, since a 2 inch dimension needs clear flat width to sit properly against the glass stop. The styling is Modern, squared contemporary plates rather than the shaped traditional ones.

The 14B5 dummy pair is unkeyed and has no cylinder in it. The Config #4 plate does carry an American cylinder classification with the cylinder position above the handle, so if you need a keyed opening you want the keyed version of this configuration rather than modifying the dummy. The dummy is for the inactive leaf, where there's nothing to key.
