Trim only. The 16A2 set gives you the plates and handles for a swinging patio door; the multi point mortise lock box is a separate purchase. 3) Is the 16A2 passage trim lockable, or does it have a key cylinder?
Passage function, non-keyed. The 16A2 has no cylinder and no key, so the levers simply retract the latch and the door is never locked from this trim. Use it on the inactive or interior side of a patio door pair, or where you want operation without security. If you need the door to lock, you want the keyed version of the same configuration instead.
4) Do I have to specify handing when ordering Emtek multi point patio door trim?
Yes, handing is a required selection: right hand or left hand. Multi point patio trim is not reversible in the field, so getting it wrong means a return. Stand outside the door, on the side it is hinged, and note which side the handle sits on. Lever style is also a required choice, and door thickness can be entered if your slab is a nonstandard thickness within the 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch range.

Seven finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel Lifetime (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL) and Satin Brass (US4). Two are worth flagging. Unlacquered brass has no coating and will patina with handling and weather, which is the point of it but not what everyone expects on an exterior patio door. Polished Nickel Lifetime carries a lifetime finish designation, unlike the standard plated finishes.
