1) Does the Emtek 1841 multi point trim include the multi point lock body, or just the handles and plates?
Trim only. The 1841 set gives you the plates, the handles, and the cylinder. The multi point mortise lock box is a separate order, so if you're replacing a full assembly you need the lock body from the door manufacturer as well. Emtek references Neuma Doors for this configuration, so match the lock case to what's already in the stile before ordering trim.
2) What is Door Configuration #8 on an Emtek multi point trim, and how do I know it's the one I need?
Configuration #8 describes where the cylinder sits relative to the handle. On the 1841 the American cylinder hub is ABOVE the handle, with 5-1/4 inch center-to-center between the cylinder and the lever hub. Measure the existing prep in your door: if the keyhole is above the lever and the two centers are 5-1/4 inches apart, this is the matching trim. If the cylinder falls below the handle, or the spacing is different, you need a different configuration number.
3) Will the Emtek 1841 Tuscany plate fit a narrow patio door stile?
The Tuscany plate measures 2 x 10-1/2 inches. That 2 inch width is what has to land on the stile face, so measure the flat of your stile before committing. It's a swinging patio door trim, so it's sized for a typical French or hinged patio door stile rather than a narrow sliding door rail.
4) Do I have to specify handing when I order the Emtek 1841 multi point trim?
Handing is required. You pick right hand or left hand at order time, and it isn't field reversible on this trim. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right, it's right hand. Getting this wrong on a multi point set means the lever and cylinder land on the wrong faces.
5) Which keyway does the Emtek 1841 come in, and can I key it to my existing house key?
Two keyways: Schlage (the standard) and Weiser WR5. Both are available in either finish. It's a single cylinder keyed function, so one key outside and a thumbturn or lever inside on the lock body.
