1) Does the Emtek 1L1A21 multi point entry set include the multi point lock mechanism, or just the handles and plates?
Trim only. The 1L1A21 set ships with the plates, handles and cylinder. The multi point mortise lock box is not included, so you need the gearbox and rods already in the door or ordered separately.
2) What multi point lock gearbox does the Emtek 1L1A21 arched trim fit?
It is sized for a large multi point configuration, and G-U is the referenced door manufacturer for this trim. Handle center-to-center is 3-5/8 inches with the cylinder hub above the handle, so measure your existing gearbox spacing and cylinder position against those two numbers before ordering.
3) Is the cylinder above or below the handle on the Emtek 1L1A21?
Above the handle. Emtek builds the same arched trim both ways, so if your existing door has the key hub below the lever, this is the wrong configuration and you want the below-handle version of the arched trim.
4) Will my existing Schlage house keys work with this Emtek entry set?
Yes, if you order the Schlage keyway version. The 1L1A21 takes an American-style cylinder and is offered in Schlage keyway (standard) or Weiser WR5 keyway, so it can be keyed to match the rest of the house. Keyed alike or keyed different is a selection at order time, and you can supply a key code.
5) Do I have to specify handing when ordering the Emtek arched multi point trim?
Yes. Right hand or left hand is a required selection, along with the lever style. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right it is right hand. Getting this wrong means the lever points the wrong way on the plate.
6) Is the Emtek 1L1A21 a single cylinder or double cylinder entry set?
Single cylinder. Key outside, thumbturn or lever operation inside, which is the normal setup for a swinging patio door. There is no keyed inside cylinder on this configuration.
7) Which levers can I put on the Emtek 1L1A21 sandcast bronze trim?
Any Sandcast Bronze lever from the collection. The selectable styles are Aurora, Bryce, Cimarron, Cody, Durango, Lariat, Mariposa, Montrose, Teton and Yuma. Lever choice is required when you order.

Spring assist is built into every Emtek multi point lock trim now, including the 1L1A21. It returns the lever to horizontal and is there specifically to stop the droopy-handle problem on heavy patio doors.

It is a residential product, intended for swinging patio doors in homes. For a commercial opening with code and traffic demands, look at a Grade 1 mortise or exit device line instead.
