Trim only. The 1L1A53 set covers the exterior and interior plates and the handles; the multi point mortise lock box is a separate purchase. Order the gearbox that matches your door and strike layout, then hang this trim on it.
2) What multi point lock gearbox does the Emtek 1L1A53 trim fit?
It is built around G-U multi point hardware, with a 3-5/8 inch center-to-center between the handle spindle and the cylinder, and the cylinder sitting below the handle. If your existing gearbox uses that 3-5/8 inch CTC and a below-handle cylinder position, this trim lines up with it.
3) What kind of cylinder does this Emtek multi point trim take?
Euro profile. The 1L1A53 is set up for a euro profile cylinder mounted below the handle, so a standard round mortise cylinder or a KIK cylinder will not drop into it. Cylinder is not part of the trim set, and the interior side is a non-keyed American style thumbturn rather than a second keyed cylinder.
4) Do I have to specify handing when ordering the Emtek 1L1A53?
Yes, handing is a required selection, right hand or left hand. This is a handed entry set, so an incorrectly handed order means the lever sweeps the wrong way and the thumbturn sits wrong on the inside. Determine handing from the outside of the door, from the side the door swings away from you.
5) Which finishes and levers can I get on the Emtek Sandcast Bronze arched multi point trim?
Three finishes: Flat Black Bronze (FB), Medium Bronze (MB), and Tumbled White Bronze (TWB). Lever choice is required and runs ten Sandcast Bronze styles: Aurora, Bryce, Cimarron, Cody, Durango, Lariat, Mariposa, Montrose, Teton, and Yuma. Because everything is sandcast bronze, finish will vary slightly piece to piece, which is normal for the collection.
6) Will the levers sag over time on this Emtek multi point entry set?
No. The 1L1A53 trim ships with a spring assist that returns the lever to neutral and keeps it from drooping, which is the usual complaint on heavy cast bronze levers hung on patio doors.
