Trim only. The 1L1R54 set gives you the two plates and the handles, and the multi point mortise lock box is a separate purchase. If your door already has a working multi point lock in it and you are changing the look, this is the right part. If you are building a new door or replacing a failed lock body, you need the multi point mortise lock as well as this trim.

The semi-active (inactive) leaf. Outside gets a fixed handle that does not turn, inside gets an operating handle that retracts the latch, so the leaf can be released from indoors but not worked from outside. On a pair of doors, this is the second leaf. The active leaf, the one people use daily and key from outside, takes a keyed entry trim instead. Buying two of these leaves you with no keyed entry.

Euro profile, and it is not supplied keyed. The trim is a non-keyed set, so the cylinder is a separate item and it needs to be a euro profile to pass through the plate at the position below the handle. For a multi family common entrance or a commercial storefront opening, specify commercial grade hardware rated for that traffic instead. The 1L1R54 is meant for swinging patio and French doors on a house.

It addresses it directly. Every current Emtek multi point lock trim, including the 1L1R54, is built with a spring assist that returns the lever to horizontal and stops the handle sagging over time. That is the usual reason people replace older multi point trim, so if sag is your complaint and the lock body underneath still throws its points cleanly, replacing the trim alone solves it.

The plate measures 2.9 x 17.5 inches, which is Emtek's large multi point format rather than a short escutcheon pair. On a refinish job that 17.5 inch length will cover most of the stile scarring left by a previous full length multi point handle. It will not cover marks outside that footprint, and the plate is rectangular with square corners, so any old rounded plate wider than 2.9 inches will show at the edges.
