This Mortise Lock Handleset is available in 3 Functions:

Single Cylinder Mortise Sideplates are locked/unlocked with a key from the exterior and locked/unlocked from the inside of the home with a thumbturn.

  • The F20 Function Mortise box has buttons on the edge of the door that allow you to set the box to lock behind you as you leave the home, or another button to keep the door unlocked. This button setting is reset each time the door is locked.
  • The F13 Function Mortise Box does not have the buttons on the edge of the box. This set will only lock when activated with a key outside or thumbturn inside.

Dummy: If you have a double front door where one side is generally inactive while the other is always active, you will need a combination of two sideplate locks. For the active side, you'll need a single cylinder sideplate. For the inactive door, you'll want to order a dummy sideplate. This gives you the look of a complete working set, but doesn't have all of the mechanisms - perfect for an inactive door.


Emtek Mortise Handlesets include:

  • Large handleset for the exterior side of the door.
  • Interior lever or knob style and backplate for the interior side.
  • Mortise lock box with mounting hardware and faceplate.
  • Strike plate for door jamb.

Emtek products are assembled per order so when they are returned the doorknobs have to be taken apart and restocked. As a result, there is a restocking fee on all Emtek products. If items are returned that have been installed, used or abused there may be a higher restock fee assessed or no credit issued. Backset on the Mormont 3347 is set by the mortise pocket already cut in the door, measured from the door edge to the centerline of the knob or lever spindle. It comes in 2-1/2 and 2-3/4 inch. Measure the existing prep before ordering; a mortise lock body will not shift to the other backset once the pocket is routed.
4) Can I key the Emtek Mormont handleset to match my existing Schlage keys?
The 3347 uses a Schlage C keyway, so it can be keyed alike with other locks on the same keyway. Order multiple locks keyed alike by marking them as such, or give the existing key code to have them cut to it. Locks on a different keyway (Kwikset, for instance) cannot share a key with it no matter how they are cut.
5) How thick a door will the Emtek Mormont mortise handleset fit?
1-3/4 inch is the standard build for the 3347, which is the normal exterior door thickness. Thicker doors are handled by calling out the actual thickness when you order. If your door is a nominal 1-3/8 inch interior slab, this is the wrong set; a Deltana Montego handleset covers 1-3/8 to 2 inch, and the Pamex FS7P31 Lexington covers 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch.
6) How do I get the handing right on an Emtek mortise lock, and can it be changed after it ships?
Handing has to be specified up front on the 3347, and it is four choices, not two: left hand in-swing, left hand out-swing, right hand in-swing, right hand out-swing. Stand outside the door, note which side the hinges are on and which way the leaf swings. Order it wrong on a mortise lock and the latch bevel faces the wrong direction for the frame.
