It is a dummy trim, so there is no latch operation at all. The knob or lever is fixed and turns nothing; the 5005 mounts as decorative trim on a door that stays shut by other means, like a magnetic catch, a ball catch, or a roller catch on a closet, pantry, or one leaf of a pair. If someone needs the door to latch when it closes, a passage set is the part to order instead, not this one.
2) Is the Emtek 5005 dummy trim single sided or does it come with hardware for both faces of the door?
Single sided. One 5005 covers one face of the door only. For a closet or pantry door pulled from the hall side, that is all that is needed. For a pair of doors or any opening where a knob or lever is wanted on both faces, two of them have to be ordered, and both need the same finish and the same knob or lever style specified so the door reads the same from either side.
3) Will an Emtek STRETTO 5005 narrow trim plate fit a narrow stile door or a French door?
The 5005 trim measures 1-1/2 by 5 inches, which is the point of the STRETTO narrow trim line: it fits stiles too slim for a standard round rosette or a full-length plate. The description gives 3-3/8 inch center-to-center hole spacing for the trim. Measure the stile face before committing; the plate needs 1-1/2 inches of flat stile width with room to sit clear of any glass stop or panel molding.
4) Do I have to specify handing when I order an Emtek 5005 dummy set?
Handing matters as soon as a lever is chosen. Levers are handed, so the order has to state right hand or left hand for the 5005 to point the correct way once mounted. Knobs are symmetrical and handing is not a factor for them. Stand outside the door, on the side the trim is going, and the hand is the side the hinges are on.
5) Can I get the Emtek STRETTO 5005 with the same knob or lever style as the working locksets on my other doors?
Yes. The 5005 accepts any of Emtek's brass knob or lever designs as the inside trim, so the dummy on a closet or a French door leaf can be ordered with the same lever, like Stuttgart or Helios, or the same knob, like the Ace or a crystal design, that is on the doors that actually latch. Specify the knob or lever style and the finish on the order, and the openings match across a house or a unit.
6) Is the Emtek 5005 dummy trim suitable for a commercial building or apartment turns?
It is a residential grade set. For a single family home, a condo interior, or a hospitality guest room closet it is the right kind of trim. For a commercial corridor, a school, or anywhere the opening has to meet a Grade 1 or Grade 2 spec on the drawing, a commercial rated lockset is the correct line to specify instead.

Worth knowing on the unlacquered brass, US3NL: it has no clear coat and will darken and patina with handling, which is the intent, but it will not stay matched to a lacquered brass set on an adjacent door.
