If your door is already prepped for a standard 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset tubular lock with a 2-1/8 inch cross bore, the bore carries over; the narrow rectangular plate is what changes.

Handing is required, right hand or left hand, and it matters for levers. A lever has to point toward the latch edge, so an unhanded order gets you a lever that droops the wrong way. Stand on the outside of the door (the side you push): if the hinges are on your right, it is right hand. Knobs are symmetrical, but the order still asks for a hand, so give it either way.
