Metallics JEB1SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Metallics JEB1SS eye bolt come with a nut, or do I order those separately?
Nuts are included. The JEB1SS ships as an eye bolt and nut set, so you do not need to source a separate 1/4-20 nut to land it through a bracket or channel.
2) Are these eye bolts stainless steel, and can I use them outdoors or in a damp location?
These are stainless steel eye bolts, which is the reason to pick them over plated carbon steel for exterior runs, rooftop work, wash-down areas, and damp or corrosive indoor environments where a zinc-plated fastener would rust out.
3) How many eye bolts come in a jar of Metallics JEB1SS?
One hundred per jar. They are packed in a jar rather than a box, which is how electrical shops normally stock small fasteners on the truck or bench, and the count makes it a stocking quantity rather than a one-off purchase.
4) What are 1/4-20 stainless eye bolts used for on an electrical job?
They are a general purpose anchor point for suspending or guying light loads: hanging wire or aircraft cable for suspended fixtures, tying off support wire, picking up small conduit or strut runs, and giving a threaded eye where you need a loop instead of a hex head. Metallics catalogs the JEB1SS with its electrical fastener line, and with the nut supplied it drops through a drilled bracket or strut hole and tightens down.
