Metallics JPFMMV2231200 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will a 1/4-20 Hangermate accept 1/4 inch threaded rod?
Yes. 1/4-20 is the standard coarse thread for 1/4 inch rod, so a 1/4 inch all-thread rod, coupling nut, or eye nut threads straight onto the JPFMMV2231200. It will not take 3/8-16 rod, which is the other common size on larger hanger assemblies.
2) What does the "vertical" in this Hangermate mean for how I mount it?
Vertical refers to the direction of the load, not the fastener. A vertical Hangermate is driven up into the underside of the structure (deck, joist, or ceiling) so the hanging load pulls straight down in line with the screw. If your load pulls sideways off a wall or beam face, you need a horizontal-style hanger instead, not this one.
3) How many Hangermate screws come in the Metallics JPFMMV2231200 pack?
It ships 25 pieces in a jar. That is the pack format for this item, so ordering one gets you 25 hangers, not a single screw. Plan quantity in multiples of 25 for a run of conduit or fixture drops.
4) Can I use the Metallics Hangermate to hang conduit and electrical fixtures from a ceiling deck?
That is what it is for. The Hangermate is an electrical hanging fastener: it anchors into the overhead structure and its 1/4-20 threaded end accepts the rod, nut, or hanger fitting that carries conduit, strut, boxes, or light fixtures. The 1-1/2 inch length sets how deep it drives into the base material, so confirm your deck or joist gives it adequate embedment.
