Metallics JPFMCV2211250 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size rod does the Metallics Hangermate JPFMCV2211250 accept?
It takes 1/4 inch threaded rod. The anchor itself is the 1/4 x 2-1/2 inch vertical concrete version, so the 2-1/2 inch dimension is the anchor body going into the slab, not the rod you hang from it. Rod, nuts and couplings are separate items.
2) Can I use the Hangermate 1/4 x 2-1/2 vertical concrete anchor in a wall or overhead at an angle?
No. This one is the vertical concrete version, meaning it is made to be set into a concrete deck or slab with the load hanging straight down. For sloped, horizontal or sidewall pulls you need the appropriate horizontal or angled Hangermate style instead, not this one.
3) What is a Hangermate used for on an electrical rough-in?
It is a vertical hanger anchor for concrete: you drive or set it in the deck and thread 1/4 inch rod into it to suspend conduit, strut, cable tray, boxes or light fixtures. Metallics catalogs it as electrical hanger hardware, and the 1/4 inch thread is the common size for single conduit runs and lighter trapeze work.
4) Do I need anything else besides the Hangermate anchor to hang conduit from a concrete deck?
Yes. The jar gives you the anchors only. You still need 1/4 inch threaded rod cut to your drop length, the hex nuts or rod couplings, and whatever clamp, strut or conduit hanger carries the pipe at the bottom. You also need a hammer drill and the correct bit for the anchor hole in the slab.
5) How many Metallics Hangermate concrete anchors come in a jar?
25 pieces per jar. The pack type is a jar, which is the usual way these get bought for a truck or a shop shelf, so a single order unit covers 25 hanger points.
