Metallics JPFMWV2251200 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics Hangermate JPFMWV2251200 used for?
It's a vertical rod hanger screw for wood. You drive the screw into a wood structural member (joist, beam, blocking) and it gives you a 1/4 inch threaded point to hang threaded rod from, straight down. Typical use is supporting conduit, cable tray trapeze, pipe, strut, or sprinkler lines off a wood deck or framing without having to drill through and use a nut-and-washer assembly. Sold 25 per jar.
2) Will the Metallics JPFMWV2251200 work in concrete or steel deck?
No. This one is the wood version, with a 3 inch wood screw point meant for solid lumber or engineered wood framing. Driving it into concrete, block, or steel will not hold. For those bases you need the concrete or steel-specific Hangermate style anchor with the matching 1/4 inch rod takeoff.
3) Is this the vertical or the angled Hangermate, and does it matter?
Vertical. The rod takeoff points straight down from the screw axis, so it's for overhead work where the load hangs directly below the fastening point. If your rod has to drop at an angle, or you're fastening to the side of a joist and still need the rod plumb, a vertical unit will fight you and a swivel or angle style is the better choice.
4) What is the exact part number to order this Metallics wood rod hanger?
Metallics part number JPFMWV2251200, described as the Hangermate 1/4 X 3 vertical wood rod hanger, 25 per jar. That single MPN covers the item, there are no finish or size options to specify on it.
