Metallics JPFMWV2251300 Hangermate 5/16 X 2-1/2 Vertical Woo (Jar 25)

Wood. The JPFMWV2251300 is the vertical wood version of the Hangermate, so it threads into wood framing such as joists, blocking, or purlins. If you are anchoring into concrete deck or steel beam, you need the concrete or steel-rod variants of the Hangermate line instead, not this one.

Vertical means the load hangs straight down from the fastener, which is how you use it when driving up into the underside of a wood joist or deck. For loads pulling at an angle off a vertical surface, a horizontal-style Hangermate is the correct choice. Installed into the bottom of wood framing, this one carries conduit, strut, pipe, or fixture hanger rod in line with gravity.

Yes. The JPFMWV2251300 is the anchor point only, sized 5/16 inch. You supply the 5/16 threaded rod or hanger wire, plus whatever clamp, strut, or pipe ring carries the load at the other end. The hanger itself goes into the wood member and gives you the threaded connection.

They ship 25 to a jar, which is the standard pack for this item. For an electrician or mechanical contractor running a ceiling of conduit or pipe hangers, that is one jar per 25 hanger points, so count your drops before ordering jars.
