Houzer BG-4760 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Houzer BG-4760 bottom grid fit my kitchen sink?
Only if you have a Houzer NVS-3218D. The BG-4760 is cut to the large bowl of that model and nothing else, so it won't drop correctly into another basin. If your sink is a different Houzer model or another brand, match the grid to your basin's interior floor dimensions instead of ordering this one.
2) What are the actual dimensions of the BG-4760 sink grid?
The BG-4760 measures 17-1/2 inches by 13-3/4 inches with a 1 inch height, that height being the grid plus its feet standing off the sink floor. Measure the flat floor area of your bowl, not the rim, before comparing.
3) Does the BG-4760 include a strainer or drain assembly?
No. The BG-4760 is the bottom grid on its own, with its protective feet. A basket strainer or drain assembly is a separate purchase, so order that with it if you're fitting out a new NVS-3218D.
4) Does a bottom sink grid actually stop the sink from getting scratched?
That's the main reason to use one. The BG-4760 Wirecraft grid holds pots, pans and dishes off the stainless floor of the bowl so they don't drag across it, and it cushions glassware that gets set down hard. It also cuts the noise and clatter of washing up.
5) Will the grid slide around in the sink when I'm washing dishes?
Protective plastic feet on the underside grip the basin and hold the BG-4760 in place, so it stays put rather than skating around under a load of dishes. Those feet are also what keeps the metal of the grid off the metal of the sink.
6) Is the BG-4760 grid stainless steel, and will it rust in daily use?
It's a stainless steel grid, so standing water, food acids and normal kitchen cleaners don't attack it. For rental and multi-family turns, that matters more than looks: grids in cheaper finishes discolor under constant use. Skip abrasive pads and chlorine-based cleaners on it.
7) What finish does the Houzer BG-4760 come in, and will it match a brushed stainless sink?
Satin stainless is the only finish it's made in, which is the same look as a brushed or satin-finish stainless bowl. There's no polished or matte black option in this grid.
