1) What size cutout do I need for the Houzer CNG-3200, and does it come with a template?
A template is supplied with the CNG-3200, along with mounting hardware and installation instructions, so the fabricator cuts to Houzer's own layout rather than guessing off the rim. Work from the 32 x 18 inch overall footprint and the 30 x 16 inch bowl opening when planning the stone. Houzer also publishes a dedicated undermount installation instruction sheet for the hardware sequence.
2) Will a 10-inch deep undermount sink clear my disposal and P-trap in a standard 36-inch base?
Plan for it. The CNG-3200 bowl is a full 10 inches deep and the drain is at the rear of the bowl, which is the configuration you want when a disposal or trap is tight, because it keeps the tailpiece toward the back wall and frees up usable cabinet floor. The 3-1/2 inch drain opening takes a standard disposal flange. Measure from the underside of your countertop down: 10 inches of bowl plus the disposal body is the stack you need to clear your existing trap arm height.
3) Does the Houzer CNG-3200 come with a strainer and bottom grid, or do I buy those separately?
Both are in the box. The CNG-3200 ships with the 190-9180 basket strainer and the BG-4320 bottom grid, so you are not sourcing a drain assembly separately on install day. The one add-on sold apart is the CB-4100 cutting board.
4) Can I mount the faucet in the sink deck, or do I need to drill the countertop?
The CNG-3200 is an undermount sink with no faucet deck, so every faucet, air gap, soap dispenser and air switch hole gets drilled in the countertop. Plan the hole layout with your fabricator before the stone is cut, and account for the rear drain if you are placing an air switch behind the faucet.
5) How much usable bowl space does the Houzer CNG-3200 actually give me compared to the 32-inch overall size?
Inside, the bowl is 30 inches long by 16 inches wide and 10 inches deep, against a 32 x 18 inch overall rim. That is a single large bowl rather than a divided one, so a full sheet pan or a roasting pan lays flat instead of fighting a center divider. The 10 mm radius corners keep the inside easy to wipe out while still squaring up the usable floor.
6) Is the Houzer Savior CNG-3200 code-approved for permitted plumbing work?
The CNG-3200 carries an IAPMO certification, which is the listing most inspectors look for on a plumbing fixture. Combined with the standard 3-1/2 inch drain opening, it drops into a normal residential rough-in without a special approval request.
7) Can a 32-inch undermount single bowl like this be installed under a laminate countertop?
Undermount sinks are built for solid-surface tops, granite, quartz or similar, where the cut edge can be polished and the sink clamped to the underside of the slab. Laminate has an exposed particleboard core at the cutout, so a standard undermount like the CNG-3200 is the wrong choice there unless you are using a purpose-made undermount-rated laminate top. For laminate, specify a topmount sink instead.
8) Is the Houzer CNG-3200 finish a brushed satin or a mirror polish?
Satin. The Savior CNG-3200 is finished in satin stainless steel, the low-sheen brushed look that hides water spots and light scratching far better than a mirror finish. It also has scored drain lines in the bowl floor, so it will read as contemporary next to brushed nickel or stainless appliances rather than polished chrome.
