1) What drain size does the Houzer CTG-3200 take, and will a standard garbage disposal mount to it?
The drain opening is 3-1/2 inches, which is the standard kitchen sink opening, so a standard 3-1/2 inch disposer mount assembly fits it directly. The included basket strainer is the 190-9180; if you are putting a disposer on the sink you will set that strainer aside and use the disposer's own mounting flange instead.
2) Is the drain on the Houzer Contempo 32 inch sink centered or offset?
Rear-set, not centered. The drain sits toward the back of the bowl and the bottom is scored with drain lines running to it, so dishes and pans stacked in the bowl still drain and the flat working area in the middle stays clear. Plan your trap and disposer rough-in for a rear drain location rather than a center one before you cut the cabinet back panel.
3) What comes in the box with the Houzer CTG-3200 and what else do I need to order to finish the install?
It ships with the basket strainer (190-9180), the bottom grid (BG-4320), mounting hardware, a cutout template, and installation instructions. You supply the faucet, the tailpiece and trap, the supply lines, and silicone or your preferred sealant for setting the rim to the stone. A matching cutting board, model CB-4100, is available separately.
4) Is 18 gauge stainless good enough for a rental or commercial kitchen, or should I get something heavier?
The CTG-3200 is 18 gauge T-304 stainless, which is the grade and thickness specified for residential and light commercial kitchens; T-304 is the chrome-nickel alloy that resists food acids, cleaners, and standing water. The thinner 20 and 22 gauge sinks common in builder-grade packages flex and drum under a disposer. For a rental turn or a multi-family fleet, 18 gauge T-304 with a satin finish is the spec to standardize on, since scratches blend into satin instead of showing as they do on a mirror polish. Note this is not an NSF-listed commercial foodservice fabrication, so a permitted restaurant kitchen needs a different product.
5) Does the Houzer CTG-3200 undermount sink need a separate mounting bracket kit or clips?
No extra kit to buy. Mounting hardware ships with the sink, along with the cutout template and the undermount installation instructions. Standard practice still applies: the countertop fabricator supports the sink from below and the hardware secures it to the underside of the stone, so the sink should be on site when the template is made.
6) Will the Houzer CTG-3200 drop into the same cutout as the 32 inch sink I am replacing?
Check the reveal before you commit. The sink is 32 x 18 inches overall with a 30 x 16 inch bowl, so it matches an opening cut for those bowl dimensions, but undermount cutouts are made to the specific sink's rim, not to a nominal size. Pull the old sink, measure the stone opening, and compare it to the 30 x 16 bowl. Swapping one undermount for another of a different brand almost always means the reveal changes by a fraction, and if the new rim lands inside the old cutout the top has to be re-cut.
7) Does the Houzer CTG-3200 meet plumbing code for a permitted job?
The CTG-3200 is built to ASME 100.19.3-2000 and UPC standards, and carries IAPMO certification. That is the paperwork a plumbing inspector looks for on a residential or light commercial kitchen sink in a UPC jurisdiction, so it will pass on a permitted remodel or a multi-family build.
8) Is the Houzer CTG-3200 insulated, or will the disposal make the whole kitchen rattle?
It carries MegaShield insulation plus a sound-absorbing pad on the underside of the bowl. Those do two jobs: they deaden the clatter of dishes and a running disposer, and they slow heat loss so a sink full of hot water stays hot longer. They also cut the condensation that otherwise drips off an uninsulated stainless bowl onto whatever is stored below.
