1) How big a vanity do I need for the Houzer CRO-1620 Opus round undermount sink?
Plan on a 21 inch minimum cabinet. The CRO-1620 measures 16-3/4 inches across the rim and 6-1/4 inches deep, with a bowl opening of 14-3/8 inches, so the countertop cutout plus the mounting clips need that much cabinet width to sit cleanly.
2) Does the Houzer CRO-1620 come with a drain and mounting hardware, or do I have to buy those separately?
Mounting hardware and a cutting template ship with the sink, along with the OD-10 overflow drain assembly and installation instructions. What you still supply is the faucet, the P-trap and tailpiece, and the silicone or epoxy used to bed the sink to the underside of the counter.
3) Will a standard bathroom pop-up drain fit this Houzer sink?
The drain opening is a 3-1/2 inch cutout at the center of the bowl, and the sink is built around a 1-1/2 inch drain with overflow, which is the standard lavatory size. A pop-up or grid drain rated for a 1-1/2 inch overflow lavatory will thread up into it.
4) Can the CRO-1620 be dropped into an existing countertop cutout, or does it only mount underneath?
Undermount only. The Opus CRO-1620 has no rim flange to sit on the deck, so it needs a solid-surface, stone, or quartz top with a finished cutout and the clips fastened from below. A laminate top or an existing self-rimming cutout will not work with it.
5) Is this Houzer sink durable enough for a hotel or multi-family bathroom?
It is 18 gauge T-304 stainless steel, the chromium-nickel grade used for corrosion resistance in commercial plumbing, with a satin finish and rounded interior corners that make cleaning quick. 6) Where does the faucet go on a round undermount lavatory like this one?
Nowhere on the sink. The CRO-1620 has no deck and no faucet holes, so the faucet is drilled into the countertop behind the bowl or mounted on the wall. That gives you free choice of spread and spout reach, but check the spout reaches past the 14-3/8 inch bowl opening to the center drain.
7) Will the overflow on the CRO-1620 work with any lavatory drain I pick?
The sink is built with an integral overflow and ships with the OD-10 overflow assembly, so the drain body you use has to be the overflow type with side ports. A non-overflow grid drain will block the overflow channel and let the bowl flood.
