1) Is the strainer and bottom grid included with the Houzer STL-3600, or do I order them separately?
That depends on which version you order. The STL-3600-C ships as sink with basket strainer and basin grid. The STL-3600-1 is sink only, no strainer and no grid. On a multi-unit or new construction job where you're supplying your own drains, the sink-only version keeps you from paying for parts you'll set aside. The accessories on the complete version are the 190-9180 basket strainer and the BG-3600 bottom grid.
2) Will a standard garbage disposal fit the drain opening on this Houzer Eston sink?
The drain opening is 3-1/2 inches, which is the standard US kitchen sink size that residential disposals and standard basket strainers are built to mount to. The drain sits at the rear of the bowl, so the P-trap and disposal body ride toward the back wall of the cabinet, which usually leaves more usable storage space under the front of the sink.
3) Can I mount the Houzer STL-3600 under a laminate countertop, or does it need stone?
It's an undermount sink, which means it hangs below the counter with the deck edge exposed. That requires a solid surface with a finished, sealed cutout edge, granite, quartz, or a similar stone or solid surface material. Standard particleboard laminate tops are not a substitute unless the fabricator specifically builds them for undermount. If your counter is laminate, you want a drop-in or topmount sink instead.
4) How deep is the bowl on the Houzer STL-3600 and will large pots fit?
The bowl is 9 inches deep with an inside footprint of 29-1/4 by 15-3/4 inches. That's a single uninterrupted basin, so full size sheet pans and large stock pots lay flat without fighting a divider. Rounded corners inside the bowl make it easier to wipe down, which matters in a rental turn or a facility kitchen.
5) Does the Houzer STL-3600 come with clips and a template, or do I need to buy an undermount kit?
