1) Will a standard 3-1/2 inch garbage disposal fit the Houzer STD-2100?
The drain openings on the STD-2100 are 3-1/2 inches, which is the standard kitchen sink drain size that disposals and basket strainers are built to. Both bowls drain at the center, so you can hang a disposal on either side. Bowls are 14 x 16 x 9 inches each, so check the depth of your disposal against the 9 inch bowl plus your counter height before you commit the plumbing run.
2) What is the difference between the two Houzer STD-2100 ordering options?
Two ways to buy the Eston STD-2100. Order STD-2100-1 and you get the sink by itself. Order STD-2100-C and the basket strainers and bottom grids come with it. Both are the same satin stainless steel sink; the C suffix is the accessory bundle. If you already stock strainers for a multi-unit job, the -1 keeps you from paying for parts you have on the shelf.
3) Can the Houzer STD-2100 be installed in a laminate or tile countertop, or does it need stone?
The STD-2100 is undermount only, which means it hangs below the counter and the countertop edge has to be finished and sealed at the cutout. That works with granite, quartz, and solid surface. Standard laminate has a particleboard core with an exposed edge at the cutout, so it is not a surface for this sink unless the fabricator has detailed it for undermount. For a laminate top, use a drop-in or top-mount sink instead.
4) Does the Houzer STD-2100 come with mounting clips and a template, or do I buy those separately?
Mounting hardware and a cutout template ship with the STD-2100, along with installation instructions. That covers the sink attachment. What is not in the box and what you still have to source: the faucet, the tailpieces and continuous waste for two center drains, and the disposal if you are running one. Basket strainers and bottom grids come only if you order the STD-2100-C version.
5) Will a Houzer STD-2100 fit the same cutout as the double bowl sink I am replacing?
Only if the old cutout was made for the same footprint. The STD-2100 measures 31-1/8 x 18 x 9 inches overall, and an undermount swap is governed by the existing counter opening, which cannot be made smaller once it is cut in stone. If your current opening is wider or longer than the STD-2100 rim can cover, the sink will not seat. Measure the existing cutout, not the old sink, before you order.
6) Can two people wash and rinse at once in a Houzer STD-2100 50/50 double bowl sink?
That is what the 50/50 split is for. The Eston STD-2100 has two equal bowls, each 14 x 16 x 9 inches, so wash on one side and rinse on the other with the same working room in both.
