Dormakaba 74529-000-01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the 74529-000-01 come with the lock, or is it just the shaft?
Just the shaft assembly. Model 74529-000-01 is a replacement mounting/drive component only. If you need a working opening you still need the LP1000 lock body, trim and latch; this part is bought to repair a lock already on the door.
2) Is there a long and a short drive shaft for Simplex LP1000 locks, and which one do I need?
This one is the short drive shaft assembly. Drive shaft length on a Simplex pushbutton lock follows the door thickness and the lock configuration, so pull the existing shaft and match it before ordering. If yours is longer than the part you remove, the short assembly is the wrong piece.
3) Is this Kaba drive shaft assembly suitable for a commercial building door?
Yes. The part is rated for commercial use and belongs to the Simplex mechanical pushbutton line used in high-traffic commercial, institutional and government buildings. Maintenance crews standardizing on Simplex LP1000 openings commonly keep drive shafts on the shelf as a wear item.
4) How many versions of the 74529-000-01 drive shaft assembly are there?
One. It is sold as a single configuration under model number 74529-000-01, with no finish, handing or length options to choose. Give that number when ordering and there is nothing further to specify.
