Yes. This Simplex 900 configuration is built for doors 1-3/8 to 1-1/2 inches (35 mm to 38 mm) thick, and it throws a 1 inch (25 mm) deadbolt. If your opening is a standard 1-3/4 inch commercial door, this is the wrong version and you need the 900 Series configuration cut for that thickness instead.
2) Does the Simplex 900 pushbutton lock work on a right hand door, or do I have to order handed?
One part covers both. The lock ships factory handed for left hand doors and is field reversible by inverting it for a right hand door. The Roman numerals on the buttons read correctly either way up, so nothing looks upside down after you flip it. No need to order a separate right hand version.
3) Can I get into a Simplex 900 lock if someone forgets the combination?
Yes, there's a key override on the deadbolt version, so a manager or locksmith can get through the door without the code. From inside, the thumbturn retracts the bolt for free egress. The deadbolt is manual relock, meaning it does not throw itself, someone has to turn it after closing the door.
