1) What size gate frame or tube do I need for the Keedex K-BXA/R-E/C gate box?
The box body measures 2" W x 13" H x 1 3/4" D, so the gate frame member has to accept a pocket that deep and that tall. It is a narrow style weldable box, so it is meant for narrow tube or channel gate frames rather than wide stile openings. Check your tube face width against the 2 inch dimension before you cut the pocket.
2) What backset does the Keedex K-BXA/R-E/C weldable gate box give me?
1-1/8 inch backset. That is the narrow backset used by narrow style mortise gate locks, not the 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backsets found on bored residential locks. If your lock body is cut for a standard commercial backset, this box will not line up.
3) Does this Keedex gate box take a mortise lock or a cylindrical lock?
Mortise. The K-BXA/R-E/C is prepped as a mortise gate box, sized for narrow style A/R and Codelock type mortise gate locks. A cylindrical or bored lockset will not mount in it.

The K-BXA/R-E/C is welded directly into the gate frame member, not screwed on. You cut a pocket in the tube or channel to clear the 2" W x 13" H x 1 3/4" D body, drop the box in, and weld it in place. The box then carries the mortise lock at a 1-1/8 inch backset. No lock, cylinder, or trim comes with the box itself.
