Keedex K-BXA/R-E – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Keedex gate box weld-in or does it bolt on?
It welds in. The K-BXA/R-E is a weldable steel box that gets cut into the gate frame and welded to it, so you need a cutting tool and a welder on site. There is no bolt-on mounting.
2) Is 14 gauge steel heavy enough for a gate in a commercial property?
The K-BXA/R-E is built from 14 gauge steel and is catalogued for commercial use. That gauge takes welding heat without distorting the lock pocket and holds up to exterior gate service. Note it ships as bare steel for welding, so the box and welds get finished and painted on site.
