The Larsens 2409R Architectural Series fire extinguisher cabinet is built for commercial, institutional, and multi-family applications where code compliance, clean aesthetics, and reliable access matter. ADA compliant when mounted with the leading edge at or below 27" from finished floor. Non-fire rated. Available in recessed, semi-recessed, and surface-mounted configurations across seven wall depths, with five door styles and optional lock.

Installation Options

• Recessed and semi-recessed: wall depths from 2" to 6-1/2" (select at checkout)

• ADA note: mount with leading edge at or below 27" from finished floor to comply with wall projection guidelines

Door Styles

• Full Glass Door — maximum visibility, clear tempered glass panel
• Horizontal Duo Door — split horizontal panels, recessed handle option available
• Vertical Duo Door — split vertical panels, recessed handle option available
• Solid Door — fully enclosed; ideal for gymnasiums and locations where glazing is not suitable
• Institutional Door — emergency access by key only; no pull handle

Box Construction

All recessed, semi-recessed, and surface-mounted steel cabinets feature a heavy-gauge box with white baked enamel finish. Surface-mounted cabinets with aluminum door and trim use a clear or color anodized aluminum box. Surface-mounted cabinets with stainless steel door and trim use 304 stainless steel with #4 finish.

Door & Trim Construction

Steel trims and doors are one-piece cold-rolled steel with white baked acrylic enamel finish (usable as finish or prime coat). Aluminum trims are extruded or fabricated with mitered corners — recommended for salt air and corrosion-prone environments; clear satin anodized finish standard, color anodized optional (prefix "AL" to model number). Stainless steel trims and doors are one-piece #4 finish 304 stainless steel (prefix "SS" to model number). All steel and stainless steel doors use tubular hollow-metal construction.

Note: Deduct 3/4" from H × W dimensions for cabinets with aluminum door and trim (does not apply to "FS" fire-rated option). Inside box depth is 4-3/4" when supplied with aluminum door and trim.

Larsen-Loc® Option

Available on all door styles. The Larsen-Loc® allows emergency access to a locked cabinet without breaking glass — simply pull sharply on the handle. Factory-applied decal reads: "IN CASE OF FIRE ONLY – PULL FIRMLY ON HANDLE." Compatible with every door style including Solid Door. The Solid Door with Larsen-Loc® can also be configured as an Institutional Door (key-only access) by omitting the pull handle and decal.

Vigilante Alarm Option

Larsen's exclusive Vigilante Alarm protects cabinet contents against theft and tampering. Plunger-activated, constructed of high-impact plastic, includes a 9V battery. An on/off jack allows authorized personnel to service cabinet contents without triggering the alarm.

Identification & Decal Options

Die-cut letter decals are available in standard colors (red, black, white) and standard layouts (vertical, horizontal, Type A). Custom lettering, special colors, and pictorial graphics are available on request.
