The Larsens 2409 Architectural Series is a recessed fire extinguisher cabinet engineered for commercial, institutional, and multi-family applications where ADA compliance and a clean architectural finish are required. Available in three wall depths (3", 4", and 5-1/4") and five door styles, this cabinet fits virtually any wall construction and design specification. To comply with ADA wall projection guidelines, mount with the leading edge at or below 27" from finished floor.

  • Rough opening: 25" H × 10.5" W
  • Outside trim flange: 27.5" H × 13" W
  • Heavy-gauge steel box with white baked enamel finish
  • Available wall depths: 3", 4", 5-1/4"
  • Inside box depth is 4-3/4" when supplied with aluminum door and trim
  • Deduct 3/4" from H × W dimensions for cabinets with aluminum door and trim (does not apply to "FS" fire-rated option)
  • Trimless cabinets must be installed before drywall; not recommended for block wall installation

Door & Trim Specifications

Steel trims and doors are one piece, cold-rolled steel with a standard white baked acrylic enamel finish (usable as finish or prime coat). Aluminum trims are extruded or fabricated with mitered corners and clear satin anodized finish standard — specify prefix "AL" before the model number. Stainless steel trims and doors are one piece, #4 finish 304 stainless steel — specify prefix "SS" before the model number. All steel and stainless steel doors use a tubular hollow-metal design.

All door styles are available with the exclusive Larsen-Loc®. The Larsen-Loc® provides emergency access to a locked cabinet without breaking glass — simply pull sharply on the handle. A factory-applied decal reads: "IN CASE OF FIRE ONLY – PULL FIRMLY ON HANDLE." The Larsen-Loc® is compatible with all door styles, including solid metal doors, making it suitable for gymnasiums and locations where glazing is not appropriate. The Solid Door with Larsen-Loc® can also be specified as an Institutional Door (key-access only) by deleting the pull handle and decal.

Vigilante Alarm Option

Larsen's exclusive Vigilante Alarm provides additional protection for the cabinet's life-safety contents. Constructed of high-impact plastic and plunger-activated, it includes a heavy-duty 9V battery. The on/off jack allows authorized personnel to service cabinet contents without triggering the alarm. Helps reduce theft losses and prolongs extinguisher service life.
