The Larsens Architectural Series 2409 is a non-fire-rated, ADA-compliant fire extinguisher cabinet with a stainless steel door and trim, designed for recessed or semi-recessed installation. The nominal inside box dimensions are 24" H × 9.5" W × 5" D. Available in three wall depths (3", 4", 5.25") with a choice of door style, handle style, and optional lock — configure your exact variant using the selectors above.

ADA Compliance

To comply with ADA wall projection guidelines, this cabinet must be mounted with its leading edge at or below 27" from the finished floor.

Box Specification

All recessed and semi-recessed cabinets have a heavy gauge, white baked enamel box. Surface-mounted cabinets with stainless steel door and trim have a box constructed entirely of 304 stainless steel with #4 finish.

Trim and Door Specification

Stainless steel trims and doors are one piece, constructed of #4 finish, 304 stainless steel. All steel and stainless steel doors have a tubular, hollow-metal design. To specify stainless steel trim and door, use the prefix "SS" before the cabinet model number.

Steel trims and doors are one piece, constructed of cold-rolled steel with a standard finish of white baked acrylic enamel, usable as either a finish or prime coat. Aluminum trims are constructed of extruded or fabricated aluminum with mitered corners — recommended for salt air and corrosion-prone environments.

• Solid Door — suitable for gymnasiums and locations where glazing is not appropriate

Larsen-Loc® Emergency Access Option

All door styles are available with the exclusive Larsen-Loc® option. The Larsen-Loc® provides access to a locked cabinet without requiring the breaking of glass. During an emergency, the cabinet door opens simply by pulling sharply on the handle. A factory-applied decal reads: "IN CASE OF FIRE ONLY — PULL FIRMLY ON HANDLE."

Access to a locked cabinet is totally independent of the desired door style and glazing — all door styles, including the solid metal door, can be combined with the Larsen-Loc®. The Solid Door with Larsen-Loc® can also be specified as an Institutional Door (emergency access only with a key) by deleting the pull handle and decal.

Installation Notes

• Inside box depth is 4¾" when supplied with aluminum door and trim.
• Trimless cabinets must be installed before drywall; plaster stops must be behind the drywall. Not recommended for block wall installation.
• Deduct ¾" from H × W dimensions for cabinets with aluminum door and trim (does not apply to "FS" fire-rated option).

Decal Options

Die-cut letters are available in standard colors of red, black, or white and standard designs of vertical, horizontal, or type A. Custom lettering, special colors, and pictorial graphics are also available when specified.

Vigilante Alarm Option

The Larsen's exclusive Vigilante Alarm provides additional protection for a cabinet's life safety contents. It can reduce theft losses, prolong extinguisher life, and safeguard fire department valves, fire hose, and other equipment. Constructed of high-impact plastic, plunger activated, with a heavy-duty 9V battery included. An on/off jack allows convenient servicing by authorized personnel.
