The Larsens Gemini Series 24096 is a steel-body, frameless acrylic-door fire extinguisher cabinet designed for 10 lb extinguishers. It is ADA compliant when mounted with its leading edge at or below 27" from finished floor and specified with Larsen's recessed handle. Available in surface, semi-recessed, and fully recessed configurations across a wide range of wall depths and trim projections.

Gemini Series Overview

The Gemini Series is Larsen's aesthetically focused cabinet line, identical in construction to the Architectural Series but fitted with a frameless smooth or textured acrylic door in place of a conventional hollow-metal door frame. Specify using the prefix "G" as part of the model number.

Door Specification

Standard door material is smooth or textured acrylic. When lettering is specified, it is applied to the back of the door to prevent damage. All doors include a satin-finish pull handle, self-adjusting roller catch, and a continuous piano hinge in a finish matching the trim. Door color options include Clear, Red, Black, and White. ADA Compliance Notes

• To comply with ADA wall-projection guidelines, mount with leading edge at or below 27" from finished floor.
• ADA compliance requires Larsen's recessed handle option.

Installation Notes

• Inside box depth is 4 3/4" when supplied with aluminum door and trim. The AL G2409-5R and AL G2409-R7 have 1 1/4" square trims.
• Trimless cabinets must be installed before drywall; plaster stops must be behind the drywall. Not recommended for block wall installation.
• Deduct 3/4" from H x W dimensions for cabinets with aluminum trim (does not apply to "FS" fire-rated option).

Larsen-Loc® Option

All door styles are available with the exclusive Larsen-Loc®. During an emergency, the cabinet door opens by pulling sharply on the handle - no glass breakage required. Factory-applied decal reads: "IN CASE OF FIRE ONLY - PULL FIRMLY ON HANDLE." The Larsen-Loc® is compatible with all door styles including solid metal doors, making it suitable for gymnasiums and institutional settings where glazing is not appropriate. A Solid Door with Larsen-Loc® can also be specified as an Institutional Door (emergency access only with a key) by deleting the pull handle and decal.

Decal & Lettering Options

Die-cut letters are available in standard colors (red, black, white) and standard designs (vertical, horizontal, Type A). Custom lettering, special colors, and pictorial graphics are available on request.

Vigilante Alarm Option

Larsen's exclusive Vigilante Alarm provides additional protection for the cabinet's life-safety contents, helping reduce theft losses and prolong extinguisher life. Constructed of high-impact plastic, plunger-activated, with a heavy-duty 9V battery included. An on/off jack allows authorized personnel to service cabinet contents without triggering the alarm.
