1) Can I snake or clear a clog without cutting out the trap?
That is what the third port is for. The 4891 is a hub x hub x cleanout configuration with a plug, so you back the plug out and rod the trap in place instead of sawing the cemented joints apart. For a property manager with a recurring slow drain, that access is the practical reason to pick a drum trap with a cleanout over a plain trap body.
2) Is a PVC drum trap rated for commercial buildings or residential only?
