1) What kind of connection does the Nibco 802-F DWV threaded piece make on each end?
One end is a solder cup that sweats onto copper DWV tube, the other is a male NPT thread. That C x M arrangement is what lets you transition from soldered copper drainage tube into a threaded fitting, or, with a slip joint nut and washer added over the male thread, into a slip joint trap connection.
2) Can I use the Nibco 802-F threaded piece on a pressure water line?
No. It's a DWV fitting, made for drain, waste and vent service only. Pressure supply piping needs a pressure-rated copper adapter, not a DWV pattern one.
3) Do I get the slip joint nut and washer with the Nibco 802-F threaded piece?
No. The 802-F is the adapter body only. To make up a slip joint connection you add the nut and washer separately over the male thread after the solder cup is sweated to the tube.

It's cast bronze, ASTM B584 alloy C84400, and it's dezincification resistant, which matters on drainage where the fitting sits wet and in contact with dissimilar metals. Material and workmanship follow ASME B16.23.
6) What is the difference between a DWV threaded adapter and a straight male adapter?
Functionally the 802-F is a straight-size threaded adapter, C x M, in the DWV pattern: thinner wall and shorter socket than a pressure fitting, sized to copper drainage tube. Use it where a soldered copper drain has to pick up a threaded or slip joint connection. If you need a female thread on the copper side instead, you want a C x F DWV adapter, not this one.
7) Can I thread the Nibco 802-F into a cast iron or steel drainage fitting?
Yes, the male end is standard NPT, so it makes up into any female NPT drainage tapping, including tapped cast iron and steel DWV fittings. Use a thread sealant suited to drainage service and don't overtighten the bronze into a harder body.
8) Is the Nibco 802-F approved for commercial work or just residential?
