1) How does the Nibco 802 DWV male adapter connect on each end?

Cast bronze, ASTM B584 alloy C84400, and it is dezincification resistant, which matters where water chemistry attacks brass fittings and leaves them porous. Material and workmanship follow ASME B16.23.

Yes. The 802 gives you a male NPT thread off a solder cup. If the mating part has male thread and you need a female thread on the copper side, you need the female DWV adapter (C x F) rather than this one. Check which way the thread runs on the trap adapter or cleanout before ordering.
7) Is the 1-1/4 x 1-1/2 inch version a solder 1-1/4 with a 1-1/2 thread?
It is the reducing combination in the 802 line, ordered as 1-1/4 x 1-1/2 under part E021350, pairing the two nominal DWV sizes in one adapter. Verify which size lands on the solder cup against the run you are tying into, since the two ends are not the same size.
