1) What are the end connections on the Nibco PC-585-70-HC ball valve?
One end is a female press socket for copper tube, the other is a male garden hose thread with a cap and chain. That combination is what makes it a drain valve: press it onto the line, thread a hose onto the outlet when you need to drain.
