1) What wire size does the Sta-Kon E71 ring terminal take?
The E71 is sized for 6 AWG conductor. It is a non-insulated copper ring terminal, so the barrel is bare and needs a crimp die matched to 6 AWG. Running a smaller conductor in it leaves the barrel under-filled and the crimp won't hold.
2) Is the Sta-Kon E71 a straight or a right angle terminal?
It's a 90 degree ring terminal, meaning the ring tongue is bent at a right angle to the wire barrel. That's what you want when the conductor has to run parallel to the panel or bus and the stud faces out the side, so you don't have to bend 6 AWG copper in a tight cabinet.
3) What voltage is the E71 ring terminal rated for?
600 V. That covers standard commercial and industrial branch and feeder work up through 480Y/277 and 600 V systems. It carries UL file E9809.
4) Can I use the E71 on aluminum conductor?
No. The E71 is a copper terminal for copper conductor only. Aluminum feeders need a terminal listed AL9CU or aluminum-rated and an oxide-inhibiting compound; putting bare aluminum into a copper-only barrel risks galvanic corrosion at the joint.
