NUVO Lighting 65-820R1 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can this NUVO vapor tight LED be used outdoors in a wash-down or wet area?
Yes. The 65-820R1 carries a Wet location rating and is listed for outdoor use, with IP65 and IK08 ratings for water jets and impact. Safety listing is cETLus. Typical spots are loading docks, tunnels, coolers, garages, and wash bays.
    2) Do I have to pick a color temperature when ordering this NUVO vapor proof fixture?
No. It is CCT selectable, so the color temperature is set on the fixture at install rather than chosen at order time. That means one stocked part number can match 3500K areas in one building and cooler 5000K areas in another, which is why MRO buyers use selectable fixtures to cut SKU count.
    3) How much light does a 20W 2ft vapor proof LED fixture actually put out?
The 65-820R1 delivers 2164 to 2505 lumens from 20 watts, with the output varying by the color temperature you select. CRI is 80. For a 2-foot strip in a garage or utility space, that generally covers a single-fixture run over a walkway or a row spaced for general area light.
    4) Is the NUVO 65-820R1 dimmable, and what control does it need?
It dims on 0-10V, which requires a low-voltage control pair pulled to the fixture in addition to line power. It will not dim from a standard forward-phase wall dimmer. If there is no 0-10V control wiring in place, it still operates fine at full output.
    5) Can this vapor tight fixture be surface mounted to a ceiling, or does it have to hang?
The 65-820R1 is built for wall or ceiling surface mounting. Its housing is plastic and the whole fixture weighs 3.09 lbs, so it is light enough for standard surface anchors into deck, joist, or masonry with the appropriate fastener.
    6) Do I need to order lamps or tubes with this NUVO vapor tight fixture?
No lamps to buy. The LED array is integrated into the 65-820R1, rated at 50,000 hours average life. There is no tube to replace, so when the fixture reaches end of life the whole unit is swapped rather than relamped.
    7) Is the NUVO 65-820R1 RoHS compliant, and does it carry a Prop 65 warning?
It is RoHS compliant. It also carries a California Proposition 65 listing for lead, which is a disclosure requirement for California shipments and something institutional and government procurement typically records on submittals.
    8) What color is the NUVO vapor proof linear fixture housing?
Gray is the housing finish, in a plain utility style with a plastic body. It is the standard look for vapor tight strips in garages, mechanical rooms, and service corridors, so it will match existing vapor proof runs in most commercial buildings.
